When I planned my dive trip to Con Dao, I expected vibrant reefs. And don't get me wrong, they were amazing. But I saw something on the Amadive itinerary: **Diving a Sunken Wreck**. My heart leaped. This wasn't just a typical dive; this was journey into history.
I have to admit, I felt nervous. Diving a wreck requires extra care. But the team at **Amadive Con Dao Dive Center** was fantastic. Their PADI instructors gave us a very thorough safety briefing. We discussed safety protocols, the story of the wreck, and what we would see. The fact we were in a small group instantly made me feel safe.
Descending was unforgettable. At first, it's a dark shape in the blue, and then it appeared. It was huge. The ship is now a thriving artificial reef, covered in soft corals and teeming with marine life. We saw big groupers peeking from the cargo hold, and schools of fusiliers hiding in the cracks. The feeling of swimming alongside this giant, silent vessel is indescribable—eerie, beautiful, and humbling at the same time. It truly is a time capsule on the Vietnam snorkeling seabed.
If you're an Open Water diver (or higher) coming to Con Dao and seeking an adventure more the standard reef, I cannot recommend this **dive** enough. It was the unforgettable highlight of my diving trip. A huge shout-out to the **Amadive** crew for their professionalism and for making this incredible adventure so safe.
